How To Make A Vegan Chikoo Milkshake

Ready to make a vegan Chikoo milkshake? It’s quick, easy and delicious. Plus, you’ll need a handful of simple ingredients to put it all together.

Vegan Chikoo Milkshake Ingredients

Here’s the exact ingredients you’ll need to create this chikoo milkshake:

  • 3 medium cups of Chikoo, peeled, de-seeded, and chopped
  • 2-3 teaspoons of sugar
  • 1 ½ cup of chilled vegan milk (we like oat or almond milk)

Vegan Chikoo MIlkshake Method

  1. To make your chikoo milkshake, start by peeling the skin and cutting the chikoo in half. Take some time to remove all of the seeds inside the chikoo, and chop it thoroughly. Once chopped, you can add your chikoo to a blender.
  2. Before you start blending, taste the fruit and add your desired amount of sugar. This will depend entirely on your taste, so add as little or as much as you’d like!
  3. Once you’ve sweetened your chikoo, add in your vegan milk, and start blending everything together until it’s smooth. You can now pour your milkshake into a glass and enjoy!

Tips To Make The Perfect Vegan Chikoo Milkshake

  • Struggling to find fresh chikoo? You can also use frozen or canned Chikoo! If you use chikoo regularly in other recipes, keeping a packet in the freezer is quick and convenient. You can even buy it pre-chopped which will save time when making your milkshake.
  • If you’re using canned chikoo, just be aware that it often contains extra sugar. Taste your chikoo first before adding any extra sugar, as it’s probably sweet enough.
  • If you’re watching your sugar intake, you can use another sweetener such as coconut sugar or agave instead. These work just as well and will give you an even healthier milkshake recipe to enjoy!

Can You Make Vegan Chikoo Milkshakes With Ice Cream?

This recipe doesn’t include ice cream, but that doesn’t mean you can’t add it in.

If you want to make a ‘genuine’ milkshake, you can add a bit of vegan ice cream to your blender! We’d recommend using vanilla ice cream in this recipe, and just one or two scoops is usually enough.

If you’re adding ice cream to your milkshake, you probably won’t need to add sugar. The sweetness from the ice cream (and the fruit) is usually enough to satisfy your sweet tooth!

You can also add ice cream to your milkshake after you’ve blended your ingredients together. Follow the recipe above, and then add a small scoop of ice cream to the top of your milkshake once it’s done. This is another great way to make a chikoo milkshake.

There are many ways you can make this chikoo milkshake more exciting – why not take a look at some of our ideas below for inspiration?

Make It Chocolate

Why not add a burst of chocolatey goodness to your chikoo milkshake? Chikoo has natural notes of caramel, so throwing some vegan chocolate into the mix can really bring out the true flavor of your milkshake.

You can make this a chikoo chocolate milkshake by adding in a few teaspoons of vegan chocolate syrup or powder.

If you want to use ice cream, why not opt for chocolate rather than vanilla to make a more authentic milkshake?

Add In Some Coconut

If you’re not big on chocolate, add in some extra flavor with a generous helping of coconut.

Finely chop some coconut and add it to your blender. You can also buy pre-shredded coconut and add this in, too!

If you want a cheaper alternative, add a few tablespoons of coconut milk or cream to your blender.

This will make your milkshake even sweeter and accentuate the flavors of the chikoo.

Throw In Some Almonds

If you enjoy different textures in your milkshake, why not add a handful of almonds to your blender? This will give your milkshake a little extra crunch (and flavor) that’s sure to go down a storm with your friends and family.

If you’re not big on almonds, you could add in any other nut you prefer, such as pecans, cashews, or pistachios.
